Our Story

Magnomer was born out of a simple observation that inefficient sortation is the root cause of poor recycling. Ravish pitched an idea for improved sortation using magnetic markers to his best friend and polymer expert, Vishal. Together they developed initial prototypes of Magnomer’s technology in 2016, testing out of their homes to validate the idea. Kumaril, an accomplished ink chemist, joined the team in 2017 with a focus on ink and coating development, giving rise to our novel Magmark™ coatings.

Ravish Majithia

Founder & CEO

Ravish has a PhD in Materials Science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Babson College. He is an author of numerous widely cited original scientific research papers and was named as one of ‘Top 100 MBAs in 2018‘ by Poets & Quants.

Vishal Salian

Co-Founder & Head of Innovation

Vishal is a polymer science savant with extensive R&D and project management experience. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and is an author of numerous peer-reviewed research papers in polymer science.

Kumaril Kapadia

Co-Founder & CTO

Kumaril is an ink chemist with over 15 years of R&D experience in inks and coatings. He holds an MS in Polymers and Coatings from Eastern Michigan University, and previously served as a product development manager for Flint Ink.

Ranjana Varma

Lead Scientist

Ranjana has a PhD in Physics from University of Mumbai with a specialization in nanomaterials. She is a recipient of prestigious research fellowships from the Department of Science and Technology (Govt. of India) under the KIRAN program.
